Drama and Theatre StudiesThe Subject
“I account this world a tedious theatre. For I do play a part in’t ‘gainst my will” Webster – the Duchess of Malfi Perhaps if the Duchess of Malfi had taken Drama and Theatre Studies A level, she would have found a different analogy. This is a subject for those who are excited by theatre, acting, actors and most importantly, human behaviour We begin with the premise that while theatre springs from our everyday life, our lives are enriched by what it has to teach. This means that accompanying the subject are several incidental qualities: self-awareness, confidence, co-operation and an ability to observe and analyse.
