Stephanie Childress is in BBC Young Musician of the Year

Stephanie Childress, now at St John's Cambridge, (Music) after getting A* French  A* Russian A Music, performed at the Proms last year as the leader of the National Youth Orchestra and First Violinist.  She has made it into The Category Finals, BBC Young Musician of the Year, which will take place at the Dora Stoutzker Hall, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff on 10th March.

The 2015 concert with Stephanie conducting the first piece (composed by Tansy Davies) called 'Re-Greening', as well as leading the orchestra for Mahler's 9th Symphony, broadcast on the BBC on Sunday 16th August.  The orchestra had previously performed the concert in Birmingham and at the Britten Festival in Suffolk and are now wowing audiences at the Konzerthaus in Berlin.

Stephanie is the assistant conductor to the NYO.
