V&A Trip

Year 13 History of Art recently visited the V&A. We visited the casts room to see the to scale cast réplicas of Italian Renaissance sculptures. The students were able to compare Donatello’s David to Michelangelo’s David alongside one another. We then studied Raphael’s cartoons for the Sistine chapel tapestry set. Though the tapestries themselves have not survived, we could see Raphael’s hand at work in the tapestry cartoons right next door to Collingham!
