Meet Our Staff

Joanna Grant Peterkin BA PGCE has over 50 years’ experience in education and is former Headmistress of St George’s School, Ascot. At Collingham, she emphasises “activities” to enrich student life. Recently appointed Chairperson of the Moray Badge Platinum Jubilee project, she supports pupils impacted by Covid lockdowns, encouraging outdoor pursuits and personal growth over competition. Joanna’s father, Sir Brian Young, was Head of Charterhouse and Director General of the Independent Broadcasting Authority; her husband, Peter, is a Major General.

Tim Haynes BA taught History at St Paul’s, becoming Surmaster in 1992. He then went on to be Headmaster of Monmouth school (1995-2005) and then Tonbridge school (2005-2018). He is a member of the Skinners Company and chairs their Education Committee.

Caroline Browne holds a BSc in Politics from the University of Bristol and qualified as a solicitor, working in a London City law firm. She has extensive experience in education, including as a tutor trainer and teacher at BPP University, delivering postgraduate legal education. She sits on the Board of an independent language school for international students, is a qualified mediator working across a wide range of cases and also holds a counselling qualification with training in SEND.

Judy Marsden holds a BA in Psychology from Vanderbilt University. Her career spans banking, private equity, and philanthropy, where she founded and led a major corporate foundation dedicated to improving education and employability for young people. Since 2020, she has been a Governor at The Oxford Academy, as Vice-Chair, Chair of the Resources Committee and Link Governor for Careers. Judy is a member of the Steering Group for the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership, strengthening links between schools and employers.
