Snowdonia National Park Trip

Collingham's 2017 Enrichment Week saw a party of students heading up to the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales, visiting the Roman town of Chester along the way.

The next day, in surprisingly hot weather for North Wales, the students all successfully climbed Mount Snowdon from Pen-Y-Pass to the summit before descending down to Llanberis. The ascent took just under two hours with  the total climb and descent taking five hours.

The next day saw the students learning to surf at Surf Snowdonia, a new purpose-built artificial surf lake in the National Park. The instructor managed to get all of the students on their feet by the end of the session with Djin, Henry and Rupert coming in for particular praise.

Later that afternoon the students did one final walk up to the glacial lake of Llyn Eigiauf, four miles west of Surf Snowdonia. The students returned to London the next day,  committed to trying to improve their surfing level.
