Stephanie Childress, now at St John's Cambridge, (Music) after getting A* French  A* Russian A Music, performed at the Proms last year as the leader of the National Youth Orchestra and First Violinist.  Stephanie will be on BBC Four Young Musician on Friday 6th May at 7.30 pm. Her performance will also be played in the interval of Radio3 in Concert programme on the same night. This will also be on BBC iPlayer later.

Our latest news:  she is now the Assistant Music Director of the NYMT production of BRASS, which will be at the Hackney Empire on 26 and 27 August.  She has just come back from a week residency where she had to coach the singers of the Musical, having conducted a whole run through. In August, she will have to lead the orchestra playing the violin during performances and take on a lot of rehearsals.

She has also concerts at the Kings Lynn Music Society and another lunch time concert at Madingley Hall, Cambridge.

We're very proud of Stephanie's achievements.

The 2015 concert with Stephanie conducting the first piece (composed by Tansy Davies) called 'Re-Greening', as well as leading the orchestra for Mahler's 9th Symphony, broadcast on the BBC on Sunday 16th August.  The orchestra had previously performed the concert in Birmingham and at the Britten Festival in Suffolk and are now wowing audiences at the Konzerthaus in Berlin.

Stephanie is the assistant conductor to the NYO.
